ADC Warns of Fraudulent 2027 Election Nomination Form Sales
The African Democratic Congress warned that fraudsters are selling unauthorized nomination forms for the 2027 elections using a viral video falsely claiming chairman David Mark's approval.
The African Democratic Congress issued a public warning about fraudsters selling nomination forms for the 2027 general elections without authorization. National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi released a statement clarifying that a viral video on social media falsely claimed National Chairman David Mark had authorized the sale of nomination forms through a fraudulent stakeholder. The party moved swiftly to outline its official procedures and distance itself from the unauthorized scheme.
The ADC explained that official communications from the National Chairman or the National Working Committee must come through the National Publicity Secretary. Nomination forms for President, Governor, Senate, and House of Representatives are constitutionally vested in the office of the National Organising Secretary, while State House of Assembly forms are handled at State Party Headquarters. Any sale outside these designated channels violates both the party constitution and the Electoral Act.
The party warned that individuals engaging in impersonation and misinformation will face consequences under party rules and applicable law. The warning underscores concerns about early electoral fraud ahead of the 2027 cycle, as political parties begin preparing for what will be a competitive contest. The ADC's swift public clarification aimed to prevent unsuspecting aspirants from losing money to the fraudulent scheme and to protect the party's institutional integrity.
