Armenia and Iran Sign Cooperation Memorandum to Strengthen Ties

Levon Zurabyan and Pouya Hoseini signed a memorandum to enhance economic, cultural, and political cooperation between Armenia and Iran.

Deputy Chairman of the Armenian National Congress Levon Zurabyan and Pouya Hoseini, founder of the Armenia-Iran Cooperation Development Foundation, signed a memorandum of cooperation on Tuesday to strengthen bilateral ties between Armenia and Iran.

The agreement establishes an institutional framework for political, economic, and cultural consultations, including the organization of seminars. Zurabyan stated that the two nations "need each other" to bolster Armenia's independence and noted that Iran has played a major role in consolidating that independence while maintaining a balanced position on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Discussions regarding future projects included the construction of an Armenian-Iranian railway and an internet cable. The parties also explored infrastructure to introduce Chinese artificial intelligence technologies into Armenia via Iran.
