Block Inc. Partners With Nova Credit to Share Cash App Score
Block Inc. is partnering with Nova Credit to provide external lenders with Cash App Score data to expand credit access for underserved customers.
Block Inc. announced a partnership with Nova Credit to share its proprietary Cash App Score with external lenders. The scoring system evaluates financial behavior using real-time data from the Cash App ecosystem, such as spending, saving, and paycheck deposits, rather than relying exclusively on traditional credit history.
Nova Credit will distribute the score through its Cash Flow Intelligence Platform. This allows lenders to integrate the data into underwriting processes for personal lending, auto loans, credit cards, device financing, and tenant screening. Block reports that the technology approves 38 percent more customers while maintaining the same loss rate as traditional scores. The company noted that 70 percent of active Cash App Borrow customers have FICO scores below 580.
Customers must opt-in to share their scores via preference settings. The partnership will be featured at the Cash Flow Intelligence Summit in New York City on September 10, 2026.
