Uttarakhand CM Orders Probe Into Congress Leader's Threats

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami ordered an investigation into allegations that a former Zila Panchayat Chairman threatened a lineman over political recruitment.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami ordered a thorough investigation into allegations that Chaman Singh, a former Zila Panchayat Chairman, abused and threatened a lineman named Balak Ram Chauhan. Chauhan alleged that Chaman Singh pressured him via telephone to force his two daughters to join the Congress party, subsequently issuing death threats when Chauhan refused.

Chaman Singh is the brother of Pritam Singh, the Congress MLA for the Chakrata constituency and Chairman of the Congress Campaign Committee. Following a conversation with the victim's daughter, Deeksha, Dhami directed Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Dobhal to ensure strict legal action against the accused.

The state government pledged full security and support to the Chauhan family to ensure they receive justice. Dhami stated that "ensuring the safety and dignity of every citizen is the state government's highest priority."
