RTX Raises 2026 Forecasts Following Record $340 Billion Backlog

RTX increased its full-year profit and revenue forecasts for 2026 after reporting strong third-quarter growth and a record order backlog.

RTX raised its full-year profit and revenue forecasts for 2026 after third-quarter sales rose 11% to $24.97 billion. The company now expects adjusted earnings per share between $7.65 and $7.75, up from a previous estimate of $7.10 to $7.25. Sales forecasts were also increased to a range of $97 billion to $97.5 billion.

Growth was driven by sustained demand for commercial aerospace services and military programs, including Tomahawk, Standard Missile, and Patriot defense systems. Revenue increased across all major segments, with Raytheon sales climbing 14%, while Collins Aerospace and Pratt & Whitney both saw 10% increases. Adjusted profit for the third quarter reached $2.26 per share, exceeding analyst estimates.

CEO Chris Calio attributed the performance to a record backlog of $340 billion, noting that new commercial and defense awards exceeded $81 billion.
