Cognizant formed the OpenAI Frontier Capability Group to help enterprises integrate AI tools into software engineering and customer operations using a workforce of 25,000 professionals.
Cognizant established the OpenAI Frontier Capability Group, a global delivery organization consisting of more than 25,000 professionals. The group focuses on integrating OpenAI products, including ChatGPT and Codex, into enterprise software engineering, application modernization, and customer operations.
To ensure scalability, the company is first implementing these AI solutions within its own sales and customer success operations before deploying them for external clients. This strategy utilizes a frontier workforce model to develop certified engineers and business operators. Cognizant has already trained over 21,000 associates, resulting in more than 40,000 OpenAI badges.
Early applications of the partnership include a co-engineered enterprise assistant for a global biopharmaceutical company. This tool managed over 5 million conversations and reduced content creation time by 60%. Cognizant currently holds Advanced partner status in the OpenAI Partner Network.
