BSNL Expands 4G Network in Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited announced a significant expansion of its 4G network in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to mark India's 80th Independence Day. The company ordered 602 additional 4G Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) for these regions, supplementing 2,247 sites previously planned. BSNL has already commissioned 1,757 sites in Jammu and Kashmir and 343 in Ladakh using an indigenous technology platform that is upgradable to 5G.

To grow its user base, the company introduced the Re 1 Freedom 2.0 offer for new customers and a fibre freedom plan priced at Rs 1,111 per month. These service updates coincided with the launch of a revamped BSNL Selfcare mobile application.

As part of the Make in India initiative, BSNL entered a partnership with Polycab to manufacture telecom equipment, including routers and cameras, within India. This collaboration aims to advance the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and digital India by producing indigenous networking hardware.
