Frasers Group Seeks Majority Control of Hugo Boss

Frasers Group Plc plans to increase its stake in Hugo Boss AG to over 50% after a cash bid failed to secure a majority.

Retail conglomerate Frasers Group Plc announced plans to increase its holding in Hugo Boss AG to above 50% after a recent cash bid failed to secure a majority stake. Frasers currently holds approximately 48% of the German fashion house following a takeover offer of 38 euros per share.

Hugo Boss recommended that shareholders reject the offer, characterizing it as an undervaluation. Only 17.6% of investors accepted the bid. Despite the failed offer, Hugo Boss maintains that collaboration with Frasers remains constructive and that no immediate changes will occur.

Frasers is currently reviewing its support for Hugo Boss Chairman Stephan Sturm, a position the conglomerate has previously withdrawn and then restored. Reports also suggest Frasers may seek to replace Hugo Boss CEO Daniel Grieder with its own CEO, Michael Murray.
