Samsung Launches Galaxy Z Fold8 and Watch Ultra 2 in London
Samsung Electronics introduced the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 in London, with the new foldable device seeing record-breaking early demand.
Samsung Electronics launched a new lineup of foldable devices and wearables at a major event in London. The company introduced the Galaxy Z Fold8, which features a passport-shaped design with a 5.5-inch cover screen and a 7.6-inch inner display. The device is selling at roughly three times the pace of the Galaxy Z Fold7 during the same early sales period, causing stock shortages and prompting production increases.
Alongside the foldable, the company debuted the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. This wearable emphasizes preventative health tracking and endurance coaching, allowing users to send health data directly to doctors with MHRA endorsement. New technical features include antioxidant level monitoring and sleep latency metrics.
Samsung intends to integrate these wearables with the Galaxy Ring and AI to provide a consolidated health overview. Annika Bizon, Vice President of Product and Marketing for Mobile Experience at Samsung UK & Ireland, described the smartphone as the control hub of the user's digital life, where the wearables provide the supporting health data.
