The Deputy Mayor of Ramat Gan, Israel Zari, joined Gadi Eisenkot's Yashar party on August 4, 2026. Zari, who also serves as the head of the Diamond Exchange District Administration and is the first openly gay elected official in Ramat Gan, is moving into national politics to address societal hatred and division.
Gadi Eisenkot praised Zari for his municipal experience and his efforts to strengthen civic engagement among teenagers and young adults. Zari stated that he joined the party because he believes in honest, statesmanlike leadership that rises above partisan politics to serve all Israeli citizens.
