Saab and OHB Sweden Partner on Space Defence

Saab AB and OHB Sweden AB signed a memorandum of understanding on September 24, 2026, to develop space-based defence capabilities. The agreement creates a framework to combine the satellite systems expertise of OHB Sweden AB with the systems integration and defence capabilities of Saab AB.

The partnership aims to improve European security and resilience by enhancing situational awareness, connectivity, and secure communications across the air, land, sea, cyber, and space domains. Marco Fuchs, CEO of OHB SE, stated that "Today, space is a key enabler of security, defence, and resilience in Europe."

This collaboration is part of a broader effort by Saab AB to expand its presence in the space domain. The company announced two other simultaneous agreements with Ericsson and SSC Space to further its strategic engagement in the sector.
