Apple Raises iPhone Prices in Japan by Up to 11%
Apple Inc. increased prices for the iPhone 17 family and other models in Japan due to the historic weakness of the Japanese yen.
Apple Inc. increased the prices of its iPhone lineup in Japan by up to 11% on July 18, 2026. The price adjustments affect the iPhone 17 family, including the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which saw an increase of 20,000 yen, as well as the iPhone Air and the iPhone 16e. The most affordable model, the iPhone 17e, increased by 8,000 yen.
While the company provided no official reason for the change, the move is attributed to the historical weakness of the Japanese yen. The currency has reached its lowest level in 40 years, which has reduced the dollar value of sales within the region.
This action follows a previous round of price increases in June 2026, when Apple raised costs for Macs and iPads citing rising component expenses.
