Frasers Group Closes Birmingham Harvey Nichols Store
Frasers Group will close the Harvey Nichols store in Birmingham in January and rebrand outlets in Leeds and Bristol as Flannels following a recent acquisition.
The Frasers Group will close the Harvey Nichols store in Birmingham's Mailbox shopping centre in January, a move that will result in the loss of at least 60 jobs. This decision follows the group's £43 million acquisition of the luxury department store chain in mid-August, which occurred after Harvey Nichols entered administration with approximately £100 million owed to unsecured creditors.
As part of a wider restructuring effort, the company is rebranding Harvey Nichols outlets in Leeds and Bristol as Flannels. This follows the closure of a store in Dublin in September. The status of the remaining Harvey Nichols locations in London, Edinburgh, and Manchester remains unclear.
Chief Executive Chad Michael Murray stated the group's ambition to scale its luxury division globally as it integrates the acquired chain into its portfolio.
