Florida Innovation Capital Proposes 30-Story Hard Rock Tower
Florida Innovation Capital unveiled plans for a 30-story hotel and residential skyscraper featuring a music-themed design in downtown Jacksonville.
Florida Innovation Capital proposed a 30-story Hard Rock Jacksonville Hotel & Residences tower during a Downtown Development Review Board workshop on Thursday. The skyscraper is planned for a site on Bay Street, located next to the U.S.S. Orleck on the grounds of the former Berkman II building.
The development will combine hotel rooms and condominiums with a nightclub designed to resemble a record album. Developer Michael Munz stated the project will incorporate a strong musical theme to pay homage to the musical history of Jacksonville. He noted the site may also include a small auditorium to host comedy clubs and writer festivals.
Due to existing Florida law, the tower will not include a casino. Munz described the project as a comprehensive entertainment, hotel, and residential development.
