United Nations Reports 900 Obstacles Blocking West Bank Aid

The United Nations reported Friday that more than 900 physical obstacles, including checkpoints, gates, and roadblocks, are delaying and limiting humanitarian aid operations in the occupied West Bank. These restrictions have left three Palestinian families trapped in their homes in Qusra village near Nablus since Tuesday following the establishment of a settlement outpost.

UN officials stated that efforts to protect Palestinians have been ineffective. They cited reports that settlers reinstalled a tent that Israeli forces had previously dismantled. The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights warned that time is running out before the trapped families in Qusra are forcibly displaced.

In the Gaza Strip, the UN continues to provide aid despite insecurity. Last week, the organization mobilized rapid support for nearly 290 households displaced by attacks and domestic fires, primarily in northern Gaza and Deir al Balah. Additionally, over 300,000 children in Gaza are currently participating in UN-supported summer learning programs.
