Infineon Invests $1.44 Billion to Expand Thailand Operations
Infineon Technologies AG is investing 48 billion baht to expand semiconductor assembly and packaging operations in Thailand.
Infineon Technologies AG is investing 48 billion baht, approximately $1.44 billion, to expand its semiconductor assembly and packaging operations in Thailand. Chief Operations Officer Alexander Gorski announced the investment in Bangkok on Wednesday, noting that the move leverages Thailand's developed semiconductor supply chain and its position as an Asian logistics hub.
Gorski stated that the expansion serves as a potential first step toward establishing wafer fabrication within the country. However, he clarified that such a development is unlikely to occur within the next three years. The company cited Thailand's neutral geopolitical stance as a primary factor favoring the investment.
