World Food Programme Delivers 1,600 Tonnes of Food to Afghanistan
The World Food Programme delivered over 1,600 metric tonnes of food supplies to Afghanistan to support nutrition programs for 105,000 women and children.
The World Food Programme delivered more than 1,600 metric tonnes of food supplies to Afghanistan after a prolonged delay. The shipment is intended to provide critical nutritional assistance to approximately 80,000 children and 25,000 mothers throughout the country.
These supplies will support existing nutrition programs targeting vulnerable women and children. The agency noted that the delivery is vital for a region where millions of people remain dependent on humanitarian aid to survive.
