Iran Displays Captured U.S. and Israeli Military Hardware
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is reverse-engineering a captured U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone and Israeli Hermes 900 to advance domestic military technology.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is reverse-engineering captured Western military hardware to advance its domestic defense capabilities. The Tasnim news agency released images of the assets, which include a United States MQ-9 Reaper drone, an Israeli Hermes 900 drone, and various components from an F-15 fighter jet.
Iranian officials report that the Hermes 900 was downed using electronic warfare. The IRGC Research and Self-Sufficiency Jihad Organization is now analyzing these assets to study their technology. This public display of battlefield trophies occurs while the United States and Iran remain engaged in negotiations.
The move serves as a signal to the United States and its allies that their advanced military technology is vulnerable to capture and subsequent analysis by Iranian forces.
