Indiana Department of Transportation to Close Lanes on State Road 57

The Indiana Department of Transportation will implement alternating lane closures on State Road 57 in Vanderburgh County starting around July 30 for asphalt paving.

The Indiana Department of Transportation will begin a maintenance project on State Road 57 in Vanderburgh County on or around July 30. The work involves hot mix asphalt paving on the stretch of road between Old State Road 57 and Bussing Drive on the north side of Evansville.

To facilitate the paving, the agency will implement alternating lane closures, though one lane of traffic will remain open at all times. Flaggers will be stationed to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is expected to last through early October, contingent upon weather conditions.

The Evansville Vanderburgh County Emergency Management Agency and the Indiana Department of Transportation have advised drivers to exercise extra caution and expect periodic delays while traveling through the construction zone.
