Global Hedge Funds Suffer Broadest Losses Since Pandemic
Major global hedge funds recorded widespread October losses driven by technology stock sell-offs, bond meltdowns, and political volatility in Brazil.
Global hedge funds experienced one of the broadest declines since the coronavirus pandemic during October 2026. The downturn resulted from a combination of a technology stock sell-off, a government bond meltdown, and political volatility following a shock election in Brazil.
Marshall Wace saw its Eureka fund fall 5.4%, while ExodusPoint Capital Management recorded a 2.4% decline. Other firms facing losses included North Rock, which fell 2.3%, and Dymon Multistrategy, which saw a 1.8% decrease.
The credit hedge fund Arini experienced the most severe volatility. The firm recorded a 12.1% loss through October 23, placing it on track for its worst monthly performance on record.
