BJP Leader Demands Deportation of Actor Imran Khan
Kirit Somaiya called for the arrest and deportation of actor Imran Khan after the American citizen participated in a political protest in Mumbai.
Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kirit Somaiya demanded the immediate arrest and deportation of actor Imran Khan on October 12, 2026. Somaiya alleged that Khan, an American citizen holding an Overseas Citizen of India card, violated visa conditions and OCI provisions by engaging in political extremism and attempting to incite anarchy.
Somaiya submitted evidence of Khan's speeches to the Gamdevi Police Station, claiming the actor's participation in a recent demonstration was part of a well-planned conspiracy involving figures such as Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar. The demands follow an October 10 protest at August Kranti Maidan in Mumbai, which was held in support of a Cockroach Janta Party demonstration in New Delhi.
During the Mumbai protest, police detained Khan. The actor denied any affiliation with a political organization, stating he attended the event as a resident of the city to question the suppression of voices and the restriction of freedom of movement.
