Anthropic Cites Immigration Policy as Risk in IPO Filing
Anthropic warned potential investors that U.S. immigration restrictions could hinder its ability to recruit and retain the technical talent necessary for AI development.
Anthropic identified U.S. immigration policies as a risk factor in its S-1 filing for a potential $2 trillion IPO. The company stated that restrictions on foreign workers could adversely affect its business operations and financial condition, specifically hindering its ability to recruit and retain world-class researchers and engineers.
These concerns follow efforts by the Trump administration to limit foreign labor, including a proposed $100,000 fee for certain H-1B petitions. While court orders currently block the fee, the administration is appealing those decisions. Anthropic and the trade association TechNet argue that such policies undermine U.S. competitiveness in the AI sector, particularly as the company expands its data center infrastructure.
Despite these recruitment challenges, the company reported strong financial efficiency. For the 12 months ending in September, Anthropic's revenue per employee increased to over $6.6 million.
