Institutional Investors Increase Stakes in Zcash and Hyperliquid
Institutional investors and high-profile figures are expanding positions in Zcash and Hyperliquid through strategic treasury investments and token buyback protocols.
Institutional investors and high-profile figures are increasing their positions in Zcash (ZEC) and Hyperliquid (HYPE). Winklevoss Capital Management invested $58.9 million into Cypherpunk Technologies, a digital asset treasury that hoards Zcash, in November 2025.
Other prominent investors have framed Zcash as a strategic hedge. Naval Ravikant characterized the asset as insurance against Bitcoin in October 2025, while Tyler Winklevoss described it as encrypted Bitcoin.
Hyperliquid is simultaneously attracting institutional interest through a protocol that allocates 99% of trader fees toward token buybacks. As of June 30, 2026, the Duquesne Family Office held a $23 million stake in Hyperliquid, and Jane Street Capital held $4.4 million in HYPE-focused ETFs.
Hyperliquid Labs recently began unstaking 3.7 million HYPE tokens, valued at approximately $329 million, for a private sale to an undisclosed institution. The platform is also testing a new model that allows users to launch their own prediction markets and perpetual futures by staking 500,000 HYPE.
