A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S and Hateco signed an agreement to develop a $3.5 billion railway container terminal network in northern Vietnam.
A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S and Vietnamese conglomerate Hateco signed a memorandum of understanding in Copenhagen on Tuesday to develop a $3.5 billion railway container terminal network in northern Vietnam. The agreement was signed during an official visit to Denmark by President To Lam.
The project focuses on the development of a rail freight terminal and cargo handling centers in the port city of Haiphong. To expand the network, the partners will establish three additional rail freight facilities across northern provinces.
These facilities are designed to connect industrial parks, logistics hubs, and production zones with major transport hubs. The initiative is being led by APM Terminals, the port operating unit of A.P. Moller-Maersk.
