Insurance Australia Group Reports No Settlement in Credit Suisse Case

Insurance Australia Group Ltd. announced that a settlement has not been finalized in litigation brought by Credit Suisse entities. The legal proceedings involve an investment vehicle from the defunct Credit Suisse seeking insurance payouts to cover billions of dollars in losses stemming from loans purchased from Greensill Capital, which collapsed in 2021.

A trial was scheduled to begin this week in the Federal Court in Sydney. Despite the ongoing dispute, the company maintains that any eventual settlement is not expected to have a material impact on its financial position or its 2027 financial results. The company cited anticipated recoveries from other indemnities and reinsurance arrangements to offset potential costs.
