Industrial Robotics Market Projected to Reach $344 Billion by 2036

Robotics companies are transitioning to general-purpose AI systems, with major deployments in nuclear energy and retail logistics driving significant market growth.

The industrial robotics sector is shifting from single-task machinery toward intelligent, general-purpose systems powered by advancements in artificial intelligence and chip technology. This transition is fueling rapid growth, with Future Market Insights projecting the market will expand from $65 billion this year to nearly $344 billion by 2036.

Rockwell Automation is leveraging its 50% market share of programmable logic controllers in North America to secure high-stakes projects, including serving as the control platform provider for Aalo Holdings Inc.'s Aalo-X test reactor. In the logistics sector, Symbotic is automating supply chain and warehouse systems for Walmart, which holds an 11% stake in the company and is deploying the technology across 42 U.S. regional distribution centers.

Hardware innovations are also scaling, as Ouster develops digital 3D LiDAR and spatial perception software to improve robot navigation in complex environments. These technological gains have translated into financial growth for the company, which reported a 49% first-quarter revenue increase to $48.6 million.
