This recovery followed a positive close in US markets on Thursday and mirrored a wider rally across Asian markets, including gains in Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. Reliance Industries, Infosys, and HDFC Bank were among the primary gainers among Sensex constituents, though Axis Bank and ICICI Bank lagged during the session.
Market data from Thursday indicated a divergence in investor behavior. Foreign Institutional Investors offloaded equities worth Rs 2,345.87 crore, while Domestic Institutional Investors acted as net buyers, purchasing equities worth Rs 4,977.46 crore.
