Sridhar Vembu Condemns Student Protests Over India Exam Leaks

Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu and columnist S Gurumurthy condemned protests in Delhi led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), describing the demonstrations as a malicious agenda designed to hinder national progress. Vembu claimed the protesters intend to plunge India into chaos with the support of external powers. Gurumurthy alleged the protests were not spontaneous but were preplanned to coincide with the opening of Parliament, arguing they should be crushed with an iron hand.

These comments triggered a social media dispute involving students protesting against systemic paper leaks and mismanagement of medical entrance exams. Vijay Rayapati, CEO of Atomicwork, rebuked Vembu, arguing that students demanding fair exams are not threats to the country. Anish Gawande, a spokesperson for the Nationalist Congress Party, also dismissed Vembu's remarks as thousands of protesters continued to gather at the Jantar Mantar observatory.

Amidst the unrest, the Supreme Court of India declined an urgent request to list a plea challenging police brutality against students during the CJP-led marches. Chief Justice Surya Kant stated the bench was not inclined to examine video evidence of the incidents during the mentioning stage.
