Cornwall Council Approves 10-Year Property Tax and Rate Hikes

Residents have criticized the decision, citing a lack of debate regarding potential revenue generation or cost-reduction alternatives that could mitigate these increases.

Concurrent with these fiscal updates, residents are questioning the viability of the Great Wolf Lodge water park project in Cornwall. While infrastructure work has commenced on the site, officials have provided few updates on the project's progress.

These local concerns intensified following a development application submitted by Palladium Resort Development Ltd. Partnership to the City of Ottawa. The proposal involves the construction of a tourist complex on Palladium Drive featuring a 236-room hotel and an indoor water park. The prospect of a competing water park project in nearby Ottawa has raised further doubts among Cornwall citizens regarding the eventual completion of their own city's resort development.
