Zhao Leji and Saida Mirziyoyeva Discuss China-Uzbekistan Strategic Partnership
Zhao Leji met with Saida Mirziyoyeva in Beijing to enhance legislative cooperation and strengthen the strategic partnership between China and Uzbekistan.
Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress Zhao Leji met with Saida Mirziyoyeva, Head of the Uzbek Presidential Administration, in Beijing on August 26, 2026. During the talks, Zhao characterized bilateral relations as an "all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership for the new era" and proposed increasing exchanges between the legislative bodies of both countries regarding supervision and legislation.
Mirziyoyeva congratulated the Communist Party of China on its 105th anniversary and reaffirmed Uzbekistan's commitment to the one-China principle. She identified several key areas for deepened cooperation, including the economy, transportation, education, and counter-terrorism efforts.
Zhao expressed China's commitment to building a more substantial and dynamic China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future, emphasizing the need to implement the consensus previously reached by the heads of state of both nations.
