AirAsia Sells Six New Airbus Jets to BBAM

AirAsia Group Bhd. sold six newly delivered Airbus SE 321neo aircraft to the lessor BBAM LLC between the start of 2025 and September 2026. The sales included two transactions completed in July.

While the Malaysian low-cost carrier received 10 of these factory-fresh planes since the beginning of 2025, the decision to unload more than half of the new deliveries indicates significant financial strain. Following the acquisition by BBAM LLC, the aircraft were subsequently purchased or leased by Sun PhuQuoc Airways, a Vietnamese startup airline.
