Mastercard reported third-quarter 2026 financial results that exceeded analyst expectations, with net revenue rising 14% to $9.8 billion. The company's net income reached $4.6 billion, or $5.28 per share, an increase from the $3.9 billion reported during the same period the previous year.
Growth was driven by an 11% increase in payment network revenue and a 19% rise in value-added services and solutions revenue. The company noted that gross dollar volume on a local currency basis grew 7% to $3.0 trillion, while cross-border volume increased by 11%.
Operating income grew 16% to $5.9 billion, though operating expenses rose 11% to $3.9 billion because of higher general and administrative costs. During the quarter, the company paid $763 million in dividends and repurchased 5.3 million shares for $3.0 billion.
