Israeli Forces Demolish Homes and Wells Across West Bank
Israeli military forces demolished residential homes, agricultural structures, and water wells across the occupied West Bank, citing a lack of building permits.
The Israeli military conducted a series of demolitions across the occupied West Bank on July 14, 2026, targeting residential, agricultural, and commercial properties. In the Hebron region, soldiers demolished the home of Osama Issa Musaif in Ad-Deirat, which sheltered 12 people across two families, as well as the home of Ammar Al-Hathalin in Umm al-Khair. Israeli authorities justified the actions by citing a lack of building permits.
Operations extended to other regions, including the demolition of residential shacks, livestock pens, and agricultural warehouses in Immatain, Qalqilia, and the forced removal of a sweets shop in the Al-Jalazone refugee camp near Ramallah. In the village of Atuf, the Israeli Water Authority, supported by military forces, filled three artesian water wells. These actions led to clashes between Palestinian residents and troops, resulting in injuries from pepper spray.
The Palestinian Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission reported that 341 demolition operations resulted in 740 destroyed structures during the first half of the year. Rights groups argue that Israeli restrictions in Area C make it nearly impossible for Palestinians to obtain the legal permits required to avoid such demolitions.
