Syrian Airlines Launches Direct Flights to Vienna and Copenhagen

Syrian Airlines will launch direct flights from Damascus to Vienna and Copenhagen starting September 21, 2026. The expansion aims to restore links between Syria and Europe and attract foreign airline interest in the national aviation sector.

Omar Al-Hosari, president of Syria’s General Authority of Civil Aviation and Air Transport, announced the routes as part of a strategy to end years of isolation and rebuild international air connectivity. The move follows a recent decision by the United States government to remove Syria from a terrorism list that had previously restricted commercial investments in the Syrian economy.
