Qatar and Singapore Strengthen Ties in Doha Diplomatic Meetings

Foreign officials from Qatar and Singapore held a series of high-level meetings in Doha on Wednesday to advance bilateral cooperation and regional stability. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Singapore's Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan to discuss joint coordination and diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting security and de-escalation in the region.

During these discussions, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani affirmed Qatar's support for initiatives ensuring freedom of maritime navigation and the pursuit of a comprehensive agreement for sustainable peace. The leaders also reviewed the current state of cooperative relations between the two nations.

In a separate session, Sheikh Sultan bin Saad Al Murikhi, Qatar's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and Vivian Balakrishnan co-chaired a meeting of the Implementation Monitoring Mechanism. The officials reviewed the progress of bilateral cooperation across various sectors and agreed to continue follow-up efforts through diplomatic channels and technical working committees. The two countries scheduled the fourth meeting of the Implementation Monitoring Mechanism to take place in Singapore next year.
