Apple Releases M6 iMac with 2-Nanometer Processor
Apple launched the 2026 iMac featuring the M6 chip, a 2-nanometer processor, and enhanced AI capabilities while maintaining its 24-inch design.
Apple released the 2026 iMac, an all-in-one desktop powered by the new M6 chip. The computer retains the 24-inch 4.5K Retina display and colorful aesthetic of previous generations but introduces a 2-nanometer processor and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine designed to accelerate AI-powered features.
The device is available in two configurations. A base model starts at $1,499 with a 10-core CPU/GPU, while a higher-end version starts at $1,699, offering a 12-core CPU/GPU and additional Thunderbolt 4 ports. The hardware also includes updated Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 connectivity.
Reports conflict regarding the pricing strategy for the new model. TechRadar reports that Apple has not raised the starting price compared to the M4 iMac, whereas The Verge claims the starting price has increased from $1,299 to $1,499.
