Rupert Lowe Proposes Right-Wing Alliance With Nigel Farage

Rupert Lowe, leader of Restore Britain and a former Reform UK MP, proposed a peace pact on August 2, 2026, to unite the patriotic right and defeat the left wing. Lowe conditioned the alliance on five demands: reversing mass immigration through the deportation of all illegal migrants, ensuring demographic security by banning sharia courts, burqas, and certain religious slaughters, holding a referendum on the death penalty, cutting welfare to restore national self-sufficiency, and excluding former Conservative ministers from any future cabinet.

Nigel Farage responded by expressing openness to a broad coalition of supporters and inviting Restore Britain members to join his movement. However, Farage maintained that Reform UK remains the only party capable of delivering change and stated he would not turn his back on his existing team. The proposal follows a split in the right-wing vote during the Makerfield by-election and a decline in Reform UK polling as Prime Minister Andy Burnham focuses on domestic reforms.

The offer met internal resistance within Reform UK. Board member Gawain Towler dismissed the proposal as self-serving nonsense, arguing that Lowe is seeking political relevance after poor election performances. Towler specifically noted that certain policy demands, such as the prohibition of kosher food, are unacceptable to Farage. Meanwhile, Reform UK MP Andrew Rosindell expressed a general need to bring the right-of-centre in British politics together.
