Leaked Documents Reveal Russia Agreed to Supply Iran Missile Launchers
Leaked Russian defense documents show Moscow agreed to supply Iran with 90 helicopter-mounted missile launchers for precision-guided weapons.
Leaked Russian defense industry documents reveal that the Federal Government of Russia agreed to supply Iran with 90 APU-L helicopter-mounted missile launchers for the Light Multipurpose Guided Missile (LMUR). The records, obtained by the Ukrainian intelligence firm Dallas Analytics, include a May 2024 production schedule from the manufacturer Vympel. Internal paperwork identifies the export contract, designated as K-10, as being destined for Iran, with deliveries scheduled between late 2024 and December 2025.
The LMUR is a precision-guided weapon that Russian forces have used to strike moving targets in Ukraine. The launchers are designed for Mi-28 attack helicopters, which Iran has already acquired. While the Kremlin denies supplying military equipment to Iran for current conflicts, European intelligence agencies report that Moscow has provided Tehran with satellite imagery and is preparing to supply explosive-laden drones.
President Donald Trump has publicly disputed the extent of this military cooperation. He stated that Russia was doing "very little, if anything" to help Tehran.
