Nolan Quinn's Office Refuses Meeting on Cornwall Road Safety Plan

The office of MPP Nolan Quinn twice denied meeting requests from Transition Cornwall+ advocates regarding the city's Road Safety Master Plan.

The office of Nolan Quinn, Member of Provincial Parliament for Stormont—Dundas—South Glengarry, twice refused requests to meet with community advocates from Transition Cornwall+. Warren Brownlee and John Towndrow, representing the organization's Active Transportation group, sought a meeting to discuss provincial responsibilities related to the City of Cornwall's Road Safety Master Plan.

Adrian Bugelli, representing Quinn's office, denied the requests on the grounds that the City of Cornwall is directly managing the initiative. Bugelli stated that it would be inappropriate for the MPP to provide direct input or attempt to steer the committee's planning and fact-finding processes.

Brownlee and Towndrow criticized the refusal as a failure of the democratic process. They argued that the proposed meeting was intended for sharing opinions and identifying goals rather than seeking a resolution. The advocates specifically highlighted a contradiction between the refusal and Quinn's own community newsletter, which encourages residents to contact his office for assistance with provincial programs or community issues.
