Amir of Qatar Holds Diplomatic Calls With Netherlands and Malaysia

Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, conducted a series of diplomatic telephone calls with international leaders between September 29 and September 30 to address global security and bilateral cooperation.

In a conversation initiated by King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands on Tuesday, the two leaders focused on expanding cooperation across various sectors. They specifically emphasized the need for diplomatic efforts to contain regional tensions and ensure the security of maritime routes and freedom of navigation.

On Wednesday, the Amir spoke with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim regarding escalating tensions around the Strait of Hormuz and the situation in Gaza. The leaders advocated for diplomatic solutions to reduce conflict and strengthen regional stability. During the call, the Amir also offered condolences to Anwar Ibrahim following the death of the prime minister's brother, Idrus Ibrahim.
