Akash Anand Apologizes to Mayawati Seeking BSP Reinstatement

Former national coordinator Akash Anand apologized to BSP chief Mayawati and denied rumors of joining another party after his September expulsion.

Former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national coordinator Akash Anand issued a public apology to party chief Mayawati on October 2, 2026, requesting an opportunity to return to the party. In a message addressed to Mayawati and the Bahujan community, Anand denied reports that he would join another political organization, asserting that the BSP is his "family" and that he will not join any other party now or in the future.

Anand had been removed from his post on September 3 and expelled from the party on September 10, 2026. Mayawati had previously claimed that Anand and his father-in-law, Ashok Siddharth, prioritized personal interests over party loyalty. Following the expulsion, leaders including Akhilesh Yadav and Chandrashekhar reportedly offered Anand positions in their respective parties.

In his apology, Anand attributed rumors about his political future to a period of social media silence that he claims was misunderstood. He explicitly endorsed Mayawati's decision to expel Ashok Siddharth, stating that the party's mission takes precedence over familial relationships. He expressed a desire to serve the party and the Bahujan mission again under Mayawati's leadership, describing her as his political mentor and inspiration.
