Hyundai Motor India Plans 45,000 Crore Rupee Investment

Hyundai Motor India reported record August domestic sales and announced a 45,000 crore rupee investment plan to launch 26 new models by 2030.

Hyundai Motor India Limited achieved record domestic sales in August, selling 54,396 units, which represents a 23.6% increase year-on-year. This surge contributed to a 12.6% rise in domestic sales for the period between April and August.

While domestic demand grew, the company reported that exports were hindered by logistical constraints resulting from the conflict in West Asia and the broader geopolitical environment. Despite these headwinds, the company intends to maintain its position as the second-largest domestic-plus-export original equipment manufacturer in India.

To sustain this growth, the company plans to invest 45,000 crore rupees in India over the next five years, surpassing its previous investment of 40,000 crore rupees spent over the last 30 years. The strategic roadmap through 2030 includes the introduction of 26 new models, including refreshes and upgrades, with a specific focus on expanding its lineup of CNG, hybrid, and electric vehicles.
