England Councils Order Road Closures for Repairs and Safety
Herefordshire and Worcestershire councils ordered temporary road closures in Mordiford and Bredon for wall restoration and utility maintenance.
Local authorities in England have implemented two separate road closures to facilitate infrastructure repairs and ensure public safety. In Bredon, Worcestershire County Council authorized a three-day closure of Blenheim Drive starting July 7 to allow Openreach to perform utility repair and maintenance.
Separately, Herefordshire Council ordered the closure of the B4224 in Mordiford between Mordiford Bridge and the C1292. This closure is scheduled from July 27 to August 7 to allow for private wall restoration work, which the council cited as a potential danger to the public.
While both projects are expected to be brief, the legal orders for both sites provide for a maximum duration of 18 months should extensions become necessary.
