Hillcrest Energy Partners with AI Hub of Innovation in Alberta

Hillcrest Energy Technologies signed an agreement to pilot its PCS1000 power conversion platform at the AI Hub of Innovation's Alberta campus by 2028.

Hillcrest Energy Technologies Ltd. entered into a non-binding agreement in principle with the AI Hub of Innovation (AHI) on July 20, 2026, to integrate its Canadian-developed PCS1000 power conversion platform into AI datacenter infrastructure. The partnership seeks to reduce Canada's reliance on imported power conversion technology and ensure economic benefits remain within Canadian and Indigenous communities.

The agreement outlines two main goals: the deployment of an operational battery energy storage system (BESS) pilot at AHI's Alberta campus by 2028 and the provision of access to AHI's network of datacenter operators. This access will allow the evaluation of the PCS1000 for 800V DC sidecar power conversion.

CleanPath Distribution Inc., an Indigenous-led commercialization channel majority-owned by Pasqua First Nation #79, is also a party to the agreement. The AI Hub of Innovation is a project managed by Agritech Haven Limited Partnership.
