Samsung Redesigns Galaxy Z Fold 8 Hinge to Reduce Crease

## Samsung Electronics is redesigning the hinge mechanism for the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 series to significantly reduce the visible crease on its foldable displays. The new design aims to achieve crease performance comparable to the Oppo Find N6, which is currently regarded as the industry leader in this area.

According to leaks from Ice Universe, the updated hinge makes the folding and unfolding action more decisive. While this improves crease control, the change reportedly limits the ability of the device to remain open at various incremental angles. These improvements will apply to both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra and the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8, the latter of which features a new taller and wider passport-style form factor intended to compete with future Apple foldable devices.

Samsung is expected to debut the new foldable series at a Galaxy Unpacked event later this month.
