Chinese Air Conditioner Firms Surge Exports to Europe

Chinese manufacturers are accelerating production and shipping of air conditioners to Europe following severe heatwaves in June and July 2026.

Chinese air conditioner manufacturers are rapidly scaling exports to Europe in response to dangerous heatwaves occurring throughout June and early July 2026. Major companies including Midea, TCL, Haier, Gree, and Hisense have shifted their strategies to address specific European architectural constraints and supply gaps.

To facilitate faster adoption, firms introduced innovation-driven hardware such as Midea's drill-free PortaSplit and the modular Expert series from GE Appliances. To combat delivery delays, manufacturers are utilizing the China-Europe Railway Express and cross-border road freight. TCL significantly reduced its production cycle from 40 days to 10 days to keep pace with the surge in demand.

Operational support from Jiangmen Customs has expedited the export process, while the Joybuy platform and JoyExpress delivery network operated by JD.com are managing distribution and installation across the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, and Italy. The demand has been so intense that Greenland reported a total sell-out across its entire European network.
