Iran Monitors Commercial Shipping Supporting U.S. Military Logistics
The Armed Forces of Iran are tracking commercial shipping companies providing logistical support to the U.S. Military Sealift Command for potential sanctions and retaliation.
The Armed Forces of Iran are monitoring commercial shipping companies and maritime service providers that support United States military operations in the region. According to reports from the Nournews agency, the military is collecting data on entities used by the U.S. Military Sealift Command to transport fuel, ammunition, equipment, and food.
Iranian officials stated that these logistics chains contribute to U.S. operational capacity and will not be treated as purely commercial activities. Entities found to be knowingly providing logistical support may face sanctions, legal actions, and retaliatory countermeasures, regardless of their nationality or vessel registration.
Iran has already investigated several companies, including Maersk, Schuyler Line Navigation, and Crowley Government Services, as well as specific vessels such as the SLNC Corsica and Maersk Peary. Officials emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and that being named does not imply equal responsibility, as the nature of each entity's involvement is still being determined.
