Government Meets CJP Demands to End New Delhi Protests

The Cockroach Janta Party ended a 36-day protest at Jantar Mantar after the government agreed to withdraw FIRs and provide student suicide compensation.

The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) ended a 36-day protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on July 26, 2026, after the government agreed to its primary demands. The agitation, which began on June 20 to protest paper leaks and irregularities in the NEET exams, previously forced the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

To resolve the standoff, the government agreed to withdraw First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against protesters and provide compensation to the families of students who allegedly died by suicide. Following the announcement that the organizing party was calling off the agitation, demonstrators dispersed from the site.

In the aftermath, the New Delhi Municipal Council Smart City Limited launched a large-scale cleanup operation. Over 100 workers used mechanized equipment to remove approximately 60 metric tonnes of waste and repaint walls to erase extensive political graffiti and slogans directed at government officials.
