Liberia Delivers 30 Earth-Moving Machines to Nimba County

The Government of Liberia delivered 30 pieces of earth-moving equipment, referred to as yellow machines, to Nimba County on October 31, 2026. The machinery was distributed across Sokopa, Ganta, and Sanniquellie to support road rehabilitation and improve rural connectivity.

Brownie J. Samukia, Chairperson of the Special Presidential Yellow Machines Project Committee, stated the initiative aims to stimulate economic growth by easing transportation difficulties for farmers and enhancing farm-to-market road access. The project focuses on boosting agricultural activities by addressing deteriorating infrastructure in rural areas.

Nimba County Superintendent Ma Kou Meapeh Gono and Representative Twain Gleekia welcomed the intervention. Gleekia emphasized that the machinery must be deployed equitably across agricultural communities to ensure the most critical road conditions are addressed.
