Israeli Forces Raid Syrian Village in Quneitra Province

Israeli forces raided a home in Taranja, Syria, as part of ongoing military operations in the country's southern buffer zone.

Israeli forces advanced into Taranja, a village in the northern countryside of Syria's southwestern Quneitra province, on Wednesday evening to conduct a raid and search a home. This operation is part of a broader pattern of military activity in the Quneitra and Daraa regions, characterized by raids, arrests, and the establishment of military checkpoints.

These incursions intensified after the collapse of Bashar al-Assad's regime in December 2024. Following that collapse, Israel declared the 1974 disengagement agreement void and seized control of the Syrian buffer zone.

Beyond the ground operations in the south, Israeli warplanes targeted the northwestern Idlib province on August 18. Eight strikes hit the runway of the Abu al-Duhur Military Airbase, causing damage to the facility's infrastructure.
